Use Case #1 - Playing Media From Your PC to Other Devices
You've got tons of movies, photos and music files on your PC that you want to enjoy on your TV, digital picture frames, portable devices and other DLNA devices.
With PowerDVD 13 Ultra, pushing & playing media from your PC to DLNA devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network is easy!
In this case, PowerDVD 13 Ultra functions as a DLNA Media Controller that manages and sends content to DLNA receivers (e.g. your DLNA TV, iPad with PowerDVD Mobile) to be played back and enjoyed.
In your PowerDVD Smart Media Library, locate the file you want to send to a connected DLNA device.
Right click on the file and select "Play to". A list of available devices to send the file to will appear. Select the device you want to enjoy your content on. That's it - quick and simple!
Use Case #2 - Converting Media for Your Portable Devices
You’ve just downloaded a great movie that plays okay on your PC, but won’t play on your Android devices because the format isn't supported.
Any downloaded movies that PowerDVD 13 Ultra can play, play on devices running PowerDVD Mobile, too.
PowerDVD 13 Ultra supports a broad range of video formats. It is also able to intelligently recognize the profile of your portable devices when you connect them. Install PowerDVD on your PC, and PowerDVD Mobile on your Android devices. If they're all connected to the same Wi-Fi network you can use PowerDVD Mobile to browse the PowerDVD Smart Media Library on your PC.
Select whichever video you want to view and click “Download to”. PowerDVD will recognize your device type and select a supported video format, converting the video and saving it to the mobile device.
Use Case #3 - Sharing Media Between Devices
In today's multi-device environment, sometimes the media you want to enjoy isn’t on the device you're currently using.
Perhaps you've got music on your iPod Touch that you want to listen to while you're viewing photos on your Android phone. How can you do this without the hassle of physically copying the files over?
With PowerDVD 13 Ultra and companion app for mobile devices, PowerDVD Mobile, sharing across devices is easy!
Install PowerDVD Mobile on your iPod Touch and Android phone and connect both these devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
In PowerDVD Mobile on your phone, click the Music tab > Home Network, then locate your iPod Touch. You can then browse your iPod's media and select and play the music you want to listen to. When you resume browsing the photos on your phone the music will continue to play in the background.
Use Case #4 - Viewing RAW Photos on Android Devices
You've taken photos with your DSLR camera in RAW format.
As Android devices don't support RAW photo formats, enjoying your pics on your portable device can be difficult and time consuming. You need to import them to your PC, use photography software to convert RAW photos to JPEG or PNG file format, then sync or copy them to your Android device.

Copy your RAW photo files to your computer. PowerDVD will scan the new files in assigned folders and your RAW photos will show up in PowerDVD’s Smart Media Library.
Connect your Android device to your PowerDVD PC. When using the Smart Sync in PowerDVD 13, the Smart Convert feature in will intelligently recognize your device's profile and auto-convert your RAW photos to PNG format as they are synced to your Android devices. No need to convert the files one by one.
