Taipei, Taiwan----Nov. 4th, 2004----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a leading developer of digital video software and training solutions today announced the availability of DVD packet-writing software CyberLink InstantBurn.
CyberLink InstantBurn lets users operate rewritable DVD burners as if they were using a hard disk or floppy drive, by supporting familiar Windows features like drag-and-drop, copy, cut, paste, and delete, directly onto a DVD.
InstantBurn supports UDF (Universal Disk Format) version 1.02, 1.5, 2.0, and
2.01 and is compatible with a range of CD and DVD burners: CD-RW, DVD-RW, and
DVD+RW.
"CyberLink InstantBurn represents the final piece of the total DVD burning
puzzle, as CyberLink now offers OEM customers a complete range of competitive
burning applications via the one integrated solution," said Alice H. Chang,
CEO of CyberLink. "Customers can now bundle an all-in-one DVD burning solution
with their rewritable CD and DVD burners, featuring DVD authoring, data burning,
disc copying, and packet-writing."
CyberLink InstantBurn also delivers the following features:
- Optional Support for the Mount Rainier Format (CD-RW)
Drives that support Mount Rainier technology use background formatting to reduce
the time taken to format discs. CyberLink will provide Mount Rainier support
to specific OEM customers.
- Two User Options for Erasing Disc Content
Normal Erase lets users erase a disc's entire content while Quick Erase only
erases file information.
- Temporary Disc Lead-out
InstantBurn allows users play partially formatted discs on ROM drives by creating
a temporary disc lead-out during the eject-disc process. Users can choose to
eject their discs without a temporary lead-out and then play them on RW drives.
- Disc Verification
The Verification function ensures the reliability of a disc by checking whether
data has been written properly.
