Error “Error 1606. Could not access network location %APPDATA%\” pops up when I install CyberLink PowerDirector. What can I do?

When you install CyberLink PowerDirector, you receive the following error message:

“Error 1606. Could not access network location %APPDATA%\”

This issue may occur if there is an incorrect setting in one of the following registry subkeys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
