When I activate PowerDVD 9, I receive the error code: 0x80ab0009 or 0x80ab0005 or error message indicating that my activation key is invalid.

Issue:

CyberLink PowerDVD cannot be activated with your activation key.
Cause:

There are two possible scenarios of this issue.
Scenario 1:
You cannot activate the Standard/Deluxe/Essential version of PowerDVD 9 from the trial version.
Scenario 2:
If you purchased the downloaded version of CyberLink PowerDVD 9, you must activate it via the Internet.
Solution:

For scenario 1:

  1. Uninstall the PowerDVD 9 Trial version.
  2. Restart your machine.
  3. Install the Standard/Deluxe/Essential version of PowerDVD 9 and then activate it with your activation key (Digital Rights).

For scenario 2:

  1. Check that your environment is currently connected to the Internet.
  2. Try to disable the Windows Firewall or any other 3rd party firewall software when activating CyberLink PowerDVD.
  3. Reinstall PowerDVD 9 and activate it with your activation key (Digital Rights).

If you still cannot activate CyberLink PowerDVD successfully, please contact the CyberLink Support Team. Ensure to provide them with the exact error message received and your activation key.
