CyberLink and Siano Partner at CES 2007 to Demonstrate Multi-Standard Mobile TV Solution for Notebooks and Handheld

LAS VEGAS (2007 CES) ----January 8, 2007----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader in digital home solutions, today announced its partnership with Siano Mobile Silicon to demonstrate multi-standard Mobile TV Solutions for both notebook and handheld devices at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, January 8-11.

The Mobile TV solutions of the two companies will be demonstrated in CyberLink's suite (#2560, Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas) and at Siano's meeting room (#68544, Sands Meeting Place).

Designed for notebook users, the combined solution consists of Siano's SuwonExpress and CyberLink PowerCinema. The SuwonExpress is an ExpressCard accessory that slots into a computer system to allow the addition of hardware capabilities. It constitutes a thin, light and fast modular expansion for notebook users. The SuwonExpress is based on Siano's MDTV receiver chipset, SMS1000, which supports four spectrum bands commonly used for mobile TV and five modes (or standards) of mobile TV: DAB, DAB-IP, T-DMB, DVB-T, and DVB-H. The SuwonExpress also features built-in antennas based on ejectable antenna technology from Samsung Electro-Mechanics. The antennas are "buried" inside the ExpressCard slot, making the card flush with the side panel of the host notebook when not in use.

On the handheld side, CyberLink will be featuring Mobile DTV Solutions together with Siano's built-in TV receiver chipset incorporated in the Gigabyte smart phone. CyberLink Mobile DTV is a "standard-agnostic" player supporting multi-standard, multi-band playback and recording of digital TV signal. It also supports ESG information and channel previous.

"TV enjoyment is not confined to the living room anymore," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "We are happy to work with Siano to enable multiple-standard mobile digital TV on notebooks and handheld devices allowing users to enjoy TV anytime, anywhere."

"The mobile TV industry is now ready to move from the introduction and early-adoption phase of 2006 into becoming a mass market," said Alon Ironi, CEO of Siano. "In order for that to happen, the market needs complete solution packages that enable device makers to incorporate high quality, easy-to-use mobile TV functionality, without going through the technology hassle. This is exactly what the combined CyberLink-Siano package provides."
