Taipei, Taiwan----February 13, 2007----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader in digital home solutions, has partnered with mobile device manufacturer Compal Communications Incorporated (CCI), fabless semiconductor company Newport Media, and conditional access provider Viaccess, to develop a mobile digital TV solution for smart phones. The four companies are highlighting their secure solution featuring conditional access at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, 12-15 February.
Together, the companies have developed a smart phone solution that provides conditional access for broadcast mobile TV using a DVB-H network, ensuring the viability of premium content owners and distributors. Fast switching between TV channels, and high-quality playback, delivers a viewing experience comparable to that on a home TV.
The four-way partnership represents the following contributions:
