CyberLink PowerProducer 2 successfully passed the DVD Format Verification in February 2004, offering users reliable DVD-Video disc compatibility.

Ever since the DVD recordable multi-drive was launched, DVDs have become the mainstream recording medium in the video-storage market. However, different encoders, decoders and editing/authoring technologies have previously meant that not all discs created by various PC DVD authoring software were compatible with standalone DVD players, and this has caused tremendous compatibility problems.

DVD FLLC is the corporation responsible for licensing the DVD format and the DVD logo defined by DVD Forum, and is also in charge of publishing the test specification for format compliance.

In 2003 the DVD FLLC proposed the "PC DVD authoring software verification" program to ensure that discs were consistently produced according to DVD-Video specification. The aim of the forum was to protect the interests of consumers by providing compatibility between DVD hardware, software, and optical discs. CyberLink PowerProducer 2 is now the world's first and only software to have successfully passed DVD Format Verification which is compliance testing and is expected to receive the DVD PC authoring logo from the DVD FLLC.
