The DVD authoring software certification program was initiated by the DVD Forum in 2003 and has gained rave interest among DVD authoring software vendors and OEM manufacturers ever since. The program verifies that discs are able to be consistently produced according to DVD-Video standards, and thus further protects the interests of consumers by using certified software products.
