Taipei, Taiwan----June 3, 2004----CyberLink Corp., (5203.TWO) a leading developer of digital video software and training solutions, announces that it has entered into relationships with CinemaNow, Inc. and WildTangent Corporation to deliver streaming movie services and online casual games in CyberLink's PowerCinema.
PowerCinema is a total solution for the digital home. It comes with a user interface specially designed for both 2-foot (traditional PC) and 10-foot (remote control) use. Earlier versions of the software facilitated the enjoyment of DVD, TV, video, photos, and music. With the addition of a new plug-in architecture and support for integrated web services, PowerCinema users can now sit back and enjoy additional content such as streaming music and movies, as well as interactive games specially adapted for 10-foot remote control play.
"We are very excited to work with CyberLink to bring our games to millions of new PC users around the world," said Alex St. John, President and CEO of WildTangent Corporation. "We see PowerCinema, which ships in high volume with PC OEMs worldwide, as a key element in expanding our customer base and game sales outside North America."
PowerCinema, which is usually customized and branded for major PC manufacturers, is currently shipping with Acer and BenQ in Asia, and Medion and Packard-Bell in Europe, and other major OEMs worldwide.
Bruce David Eisen, Executive Vice President of CinemaNow, a leader in the delivery of Hollywood movies via the internet, says, "The number of users we can reach through PowerCinema makes it economically very interesting to expand our business outside North America. We will enhance our 10-foot navigable website and e-commerce infrastructure to take advantage of this opportunity."
"With partners like CinemaNow and WildTangent, PowerCinema 4 delivers a richer digital home experience for the end-user and gives our OEM customers a unique advantage, from both a product and business model perspective," said Alice Chang, CEO of CyberLink Corp. "We look forward to working with them and other partners to bring these capabilities, which have previously been focused on the North American market, to the entire world."
