Easy and Intelligent Way to Remove Red-Eye Artifacts
Taipei, Taiwan----June 29, 2004----CyberLink

solutions for the Digital Home, announced today the release of auto red-eye
removal technology in two of its upcoming products. While the automatic function
allows users to easily fix red-eyes with just one click, CyberLink's program
actually undergoes an intelligent internal process that accurately and naturally
fixes red-eye artifacts.
CyberLink's program utilizes an intelligent scanning mechanism
where the software detects all of the faces in a group photo. Utilizing this
open-search method, the software can narrow down all of the red-eyes in the
picture via color, intensity, and size information. Once the red-eyes are
located, the software will correct them automatically.
"Our in-house auto red-eye removal technique uses a series
of color variation tests and a tapered color desaturation to ensure that the
corrected eyes look natural," said Johnny Tseng, Associate Vice President
of Research and Development at CyberLink.
