CyberLink Previews How Premium Content is Shared Between Devices in the Digital Home at the Intel Developer Forum

The DTCP-IP Compliant CyberLink PowerCinema to be demonstrated at IDF

INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, San Francisco, Sept. 8, 2004-------In a significant step forward for home networking, CyberLink Corp. (5203.TWO), a world leader and pioneer of integrated solutions for the digital home, announced today, in cooperation with Intel Corporation, PowerCinema - a DTCP-IP compliant digital home application. This latest version of PowerCinema will allow consumers to enjoy and share premium content between digital devices within a home network environment.

As the world's first standalone Intel* Networked Media Product Requirements (IntelR NMPR) validated media standalone application, CyberLink PowerCinema transforms the PC into a media entertainment center and gives consumers the freedom to access their favorite content anywhere, anytime within the digital home.

Making home networking of premium content a reality for consumers, CyberLink and Intel cooperated to implement the Digital Transmission Content Protection (DTCP) over IP in PowerCinema. The technology is essential for devices to share copy-protected content.

The DTCP-IP compliant PowerCinema will enable consumers to share protected content between digital home products over wired and wireless networks and protect the interests for premium content providers - thus preventing illegal recording and sharing. With this technology, the world is a step closer to making the digital home a reality.

"The new service offering was made possible through the use of Intel's DTCP-IP Sample Implementation Kit," said Dr. Jau Huang, Founder and Chairman of CyberLink. "As a result, CyberLink is now capable of delivering protected premium content within the home network. We believe that this is what consumers will want from the digital home."

"The DTCP-IP SIK from Intel helped CyberLink quickly and efficiently deploy the DTCP-IP solution and make our vision of sharing protected premium content in the digital home a reality. CyberLink will continue to work with Intel to enable our other products with DTCP-IP so that our OEM customers have a portfolio of applications to build home networking solutions with," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink Corp.

"We are pleased that application developer, CyberLink, has implemented the DTCP-IP technology using the Intel kit," said Kevin Corbett, vice president and chief technology officer for Intel's Desktop Platforms Group. "We believe enabling the availability of premium protected content on the home network will accelerate making the digital home a reality. Cyberlink has shown proof the technology is ready today."
