CyberLink Supports USB Video Class for Easier Video Capturing

Taipei, Taiwan----Sep 9, 2004----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TWO), a world leader and pioneer in providing integrated solutions for the Digital Home, announced today that its software now support USB Video Class (version 1.0), a specification that enables video streaming via a USB interface. Users can easily transfer files from digital video camcorders to PCs via high-speed USB. This new support eliminates the hassle of installing a separate driver to connect DVs to computers.

"USB Video Device Class enables users to import various video formats from a wide range of consumer electronic devices," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "With this new support, Cyberlink software users can enjoy greater functionality and convenience coupled with faster video capturing."

USB Video Class will be incorporated in CyberLink PowerDirector 3.2 and the upcoming PowerProducer 3. Users can transfer from DV as well as video cameras/recorders. USB Video Class will support popular video formats, including uncompressed (YUY2, NV12), MJPEG, MPEG1-SS, MPEG2-TS, MPEG2-PS, MPEG4-SL, and DV. To utilize USB Video Class, Windows XP Service Pack II is required and the digital video camcorder must support USB Video Class.
