CyberLink PowerCinema 4 Receives 2005 International CES Innovations Award Honor

CyberLink PowerCinema 4 is an Innovations 2005 Design and Engineering Showcase honoree in the Computer Accessories category for the upcoming CES

----Nov. 10th, 2004----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader and pioneer in providing integrated solutions for the Digital Home, announced today that it's digital home solution, PowerCinema 4, has been selected as an Honoree by a panel of judges for the Innovations 2005 Design and Engineering Showcase Award, under the category of Computer Accessories and has been listed on the CES Innovations 2005 Awards Honorees site at http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/awards/innovations/rd_honorees.asp?category=47

The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Showcase honoree is awarded to the best products in terms of user value, design innovation, aesthetics, and contribution to quality of life. CyberLink PowerCinema has been nominated for its innovative technologies and features, market leadership and flexible business model. An eminent panel of independent designers, engineers and journalists judges each product.. This is the 10th year for the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) to give this award.

The UPnP-ready CyberLink PowerCinema transforms the PC into a media entertainment center by giving access to features including Movies, Photo, Videos, Music, TV, Radio, and DVD burning via remote control. It is also a digital Media client player and the world's first standalone Intel Networked Media Product Requirements (Intel NMPR) validated media client application, enabling consumers the freedom to access their favorite content anywhere, anytime in the digital home. Soon-to-be-released PowerCinema 4 also includes a 3D user interface and new options like photo editing, digital TV, audio-video enhancements, online upgrades and streaming movie services from content provider CinemaNow.

In order to make home networking of premium content a reality for consumers, CyberLink and Intel cooperated to implement the Digital Transmission Content Protection (DTCP) over IP in PowerCinema. The DTCP-IP compliant PowerCinema will enable consumers to share protected content between digital home products over wired and wireless networks and protect the interests of premium content providers.

PowerCinema can be customized and branded for major PC manufacturers, and is currently shipping with tier-one OEM companies including NEC Computer International, Medion, Acer, BenQ, LG-IBM and Logitech. PowerCinema was voted Buyer's Choice at Computex 2004. The up-coming PowerCinema 4 supports a two-prong business model - both OEM and retail. For OEM customers, PowerCinema is an extremely flexible modular solution. OEM customers incorporate modules that best suit their hardware needs. PowerCinema also represents a marketing platform offering OEM customers a means to upsell additional products and services through an "Extras" module. PowerCinema's "Extras" feature lets users go online and access customer support, download trial software, or purchase additional modules, feature enhancements, accessories and other CyberLink software.
