With the widespread adoption of online services, information security has become increasingly crucial. In order to safeguard personal information and transaction details from theft, the life insurance industry in Vietnam is driving the mandatory implementation of eKYC. When policyholders utilize online services, they must undergo identity authentication before being able to proceed with the service.

Generali Vietnam has over five hundred thousand policyholders in Vietnam, all of whom access online services through their personal mobile devices. Conducting eKYC requires balancing accuracy, ease of use, and compatibility with various mobile devices.

Our Solution

Generali Vietnam integrated FaceMe® SDK into its customer application service, GenVita, to utilize facial recognition for the following eKYC scenarios:

  • Facial Recognition Login: Once facial data is registered, customers can login to GenVita with facial recognition; ensuring that the user is the account holder while eliminating inconvenient passwords.
  • First-time Insurance Purchase: Before applying for their first policy through GenVita, new customers (policyholders or insured persons) must register their basic account information and facial data. The registered data is then used for eKYC identity verification when the policy application is submitted.
  • Online Transactions: Customers must use facial recognition to login to GenVita to access personal data. For example, confirmation of new policies, policy inquiries, insurance claims application, adjustment of policy information, changing payment methods, premium withdrawal requests, etc.
