CyberLink’s PowerDVD, PowerVCR and Medi@Show Awarded the “Symbol of Excellence Winner”

January 17, 2000----Taipei, Taiwan----CyberLink Corp.'s PowerDVD, PowerVCR and Medi@Show software has won CETRA's "Symbol of Excellence" award, which is given to outstanding products that meet strict CETRA (China External Trade Development Council) requirements on product quality, design, innovation, market position and brand awareness.

"Symbol of Excellence" products carry a high level of national prestige and are identified as having the highest standard of product quality in Taiwan. Only products that have received this award may use its seal and be recognized internationally as a "Symbol of Excellence" recipient. Alice H. PowerDVD
CyberLink's PowerDVD is the flagship of CyberLink's complete range of video and audio software products. It features unrivaled functions allowing users to view high quality video and media-rich DVD contents on the personal computer. PowerDVD is based on the proprietary MPEG-2 video decoding engine that supports full 720 x 480 resolution for NTSC video playback and 720 x 576 for PAL. The audio decoding engine of PowerDVD is certified by Dolby to meet their high quality audio requirements. The 5.1-channel or 2-channel Dolby Digital streams are sent through S/PDIF to the external Dolby Digital decoder for high fidelity decoding and playback. The current PowerDVD 2.55 version is loaded with new features such as the i-Power service, multiple skin selections, bookmark functions, and screen capture functions.

PowerVCR
CyberLink's PowerVCR is the real-time MPEG-1 recording software that is recognized for its full-frame and amazing video quality. It provides "cut & paste" and "merge" functions to manipulate one or multiple MPEG video files in a single stroke turning your personal computer into a digital video creation center. Based on CyberLink's world-acclaimed and ultra-fast MPEG compression technology, PowerVCR allows users to enjoy and record video contents simultaneously from any video source such as handy camcorders, PC cameras, VCRs or TV turners in real-time. The compressed and recorded video contents can be later edited or saved in storage devices.

Medi@Show
Medi@Show, PCWeek's winner of the Best of COMDEX award (Fall 1999), is a great software tool that creates and publishes professional multimedia slide shows on desktops or for the Internet to drive e-commerce sales. It incorporates multimedia and PowerPoint files together with spectacular 3D transitional slide and animated text effects. The unique i-Power service provides users with direct access to unlimited Internet resources for multimedia clips. The current version is Medi@Show 2.03.
