February 19, 2001----Taipei, Taiwan----CyberLink, the leading developer of digital video and multimedia streaming software applications, has attained recent acclaim in Japan, where the consumer market has traditionally performed as an early indicator of worldwide trends in digital video technology. In addition to successful reviews and Editor's Choice awards, such as Japan's DOS/V Magazine awarding PowerDVD a full 5 star rating in the December issue, CyberLink has also been recognized as a top selling brand in Japan's tech-savvy retail sector. In recent months, CyberLink's software applications have received numerous acclaim and awards from IT magazines from Asia, Europe and the United States and the company predicts strong retail sales globally in 2001.

On February 1, CyberLink Japan was honored with The BCN Best Vendor Award 2001 in PC multimedia software, sponsored by Computer News Corp. of Tokyo. The award is given based on an extensive analysis of the actual storefront sales data for the past year, reported online from over 300 leading PC retail stores in Japan. CyberLink's popular offerings, that include applications from its digital video product line of PowerDVD and PowerVCR II, has helped the company rank in a clear No.1 position in the retail segment. According to Nobby Yoshida, president of CyberLink Japan, "Multimedia software is the category which we strive to create technically superior and user friendly products, so we are delighted to win in this category. Our customers can look forward to new products and advancements as CyberLink's digital video and multimedia streaming product lines grow in the coming year."

"With CyberLink PowerDVD receiving a 5 Star rating from DOS/V, we are proud to be the top choice of professional reviewers," notes Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink Corp. "In receiving The BCN Best Vendor Award, our products have clearly won the support of consumers in Japan, where the market is demanding for high quality, feature rich products that define global standards in consumer technology."

Currently, CyberLink's Digital Video Applications include PowerDVD 3.0 and PowerVCR II. PowerDVD is the premier software DVD playback program for the PC, with high quality video and audio playback plus advanced features for personalized DVD entertainment. PowerVCR II is designed to perform real-time digital video recording in MPEG-2/MPEG-1 format, directly from any video source (such as TV tuners, VCRs, DV camcorders, camcorders and PC cameras). Plus, PowerVCR II's online Electronic Program Guide(CyberEPG), which can be accessed through i-Power, allows users to look up and pre-schedule recording of TV programs and playback with time-shifting features. Both products in CyberLink's digital video product line are embedded with the i-Power Web browser which accesses individual Desktop Portal Pages, providing vast amounts of information and resources on DVD and digital video recording technology through online services, databases, forums and constant updates.
