Booth: Hall1, A536, A539
May 23, 2002----Taipei,
Taiwan---- CyberLink Corp., a leading software developer of digital video entertainment
applications and e-training solutions, will be showcasing it's complete line
of digital video software applications at the coming Computex Show in Taipei.
Recently, a number of factors are in favor of helping the digital video market
to boom. From more powerful and affordable multimedia PCs, availability of DV
camcorders, firewire to the recent growing trend in CD burners shipment to availability
of a number of DVD formats and burning drives, CyberLink has been well prepared
to offer software solutions that will enable digital video applications on the
PC.
According to Alice H. Chang,
"CyberLink's vision is to make video production easy and fun for the consumers.
With the introduction of PowerDirector and PowerVCRII, we have enabled applications
from high-quality MPEG-2 video recording from TV or DV camcorders to video editing,
authoring and burning. Together with PowerDVD, users can now produce and playback
their own movie titles."
From IDC's recent market
research, the number of CD burners will increase from 120 million in 2001 to
546 million in 2005. In 2001, 2.4 million DVD burners were sold and by 2005,
it is expected to exceed 72 million, which is a compound annual growth rate
of 135%. These trends translate into great opportunities for CyberLink to capitalize
on this growing market.
