CyberLink Releases Tool to Test PC Readiness for Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD Playback

CyberLink BD/HD DVD Advisor (Beta Version) is available online as free download

Taipei, Taiwan----August 25, 2006----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader in digital home solutions, today released a free diagnostic tool for testing PC systems for Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD capabilities.

The software, called the CyberLink BD/HD DVD Advisor, analyzes system resources and rates them according to whether they can support the playback of next-generation Hollywood discs. Upgrade recommendations and troubleshooting support are provided if a PC system is unable to support Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD playback.

CyberLink BD/HD DVD Advisor analyzes the PC for capabilities of the following system components:
· Processor
· System memory
· Operating system
· Graphics card, card drivers, and video memory
· Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD drive
· Software player
· HDCP-compliance

"CyberLink is committed to enabling the next generation of discs on personal computers, however, the complicated ecosystem means it's often difficult for the average consumer to move from DVDs to Blu-ray Discs or HD DVDs," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "CyberLink BD/HD DVD Advisor serves as a bridge between formats, offering practical upgrade suggestions that help users better understand their system requirements. This is one way CyberLink is helping consumers prepare for the arrival of high-definition entertainment on every PC."

The CyberLink BD/HD DVD Advisor Beta Version is available for free from www.cyberlink.com/bd-hddvd_advisor.
