CyberLink and Compal Communications Launch Linux-based Mobile TV Phone

Taipei, Taiwan----September 11, 2006----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader in digital home solutions, and mobile device manufacturer Compal Communications Inc (CCI), have announced the release of a mobile TV phone design supporting DVB-H and GSM services running on the Linux platform. CyberLink and CCI are demonstrating the product until September 12 at the IBC Exhibition 2006, booth M221, Amsterdam RAI Congress Center.

CCI's mobile TV phone includes CyberLink Mobile TV Solution and utilizes Intel IPP/Wireless MMX to maximize the multimedia codec performance. The Linux-based TV phone offers high-performance and low power consumption, providing high-quality reception of DVB-H TV programs.

CyberLink Mobile TV Solution enables the decoding and playback of TV content accessed via a receiver-demodulator built into a handheld device, like CCI's mobile TV phone. Users can check their program guide and navigate between channels with CyberLink’s user-friendly interface.

"CyberLink has worked closely with the leading manufacturer CCI to develop a high-performance mobile TV device based on Linux," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "CCI's mobile TV phone represents the future of accessing TV content via a converged device, combining communication with instantly accessible TV infotainment."
