February 5, 2001----Taipei, Taiwan----Professional software reviewers from the world's leading IT magazines continue to recognize CyberLink's PowerDVD as the best software DVD playback program. The most recent editorial acclaims for PowerDVD came from three of France's top consumer oriented computing publications: SVM, PC Achat and PC Direct. The November release of PowerDVD 3.0, including video and audio quality enhancements and intelligent new interactive features, had generated numerous requests from experts for testing in comparison with currently available DVD playback software. Early results indicate the growing dominance of PowerDVD over its competitors, with two Editor's Choice awards and one Best Buy award from French IT magazines, in addition to repeat recognitions across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

The editors of SVM Magazine (VNU Publications) selected PowerDVD as The Winner in a head to head competition with WinDVD: PowerDVD earned a full 5 star rating while its competitor only received 4 stars. PC Achat (Future France) presented PowerDVD with the Editor's Choice award in the December issue, citing PowerDVD as "the most complete software DVD player." In the January issue of PC Direct (VNU Publications), CyberLink PowerDVD 3.0 was chosen as a "2001 Meilleurs Achats", meaning Best Things to Buy in 2001, for its high quality and advanced features.
