June 6, 2001----Taipei, Taiwan----CyberLink, a leading developer of digital video and streaming multimedia software applications, today proudly celebrates its win of the Best Multimedia Product at Computex 2001 for PowerDirector 1.0. This revolutionary new video editing software received a Best of COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2001 Award, which was judged by the editors of Japan's highly regarded Nikkei Byte and Nikkei WinPC magazines. This marks the second straight year that CyberLink has won this award in the Best Multimedia Product category at Computex, the world's third largest IT trade show, held annually at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC).

The judges from Nikkei Byte and Nikkei WinPC evaluate product entries based on the innovativeness of design and potential for success in the high-tech oriented Japanese market. PowerDirector was selected for its advanced video editing features such as Smart Video Rendering Technology (SVRT). As announced by the judges, "It is unlike other video editing software programs that need to render the entire length of video. Moreover, it inputs from DV to MPEG-2 in real-time and makes files for DVD-Video format. These functions make it easy for users to easily make DVD-Video with a DVD-R drive."

"We are very honored to be presented with the Best of Computex Award for the second straight year in the Multimedia Products category," stated Alice. H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink Corp. "With PowerVCR II winning last year and the soaring popularity of PowerDVD, PowerDirector's first major award indicates that our growing digital video product line offers our customers a complete total solution for video entertainment and creativity with tomorrow's PC."
