CyberLink Showcased Digital Home Solutions at Intel Developer Forums Spring 2005 in Asia

Taipei, Taiwan----April 21, 2005----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader and pioneer in providing integrated solutions for the Digital Home, showcased the latest media-sharing capabilities of CyberLink PowerCinema recently at the Intel Spring Developer Forum in Tokyo, Japan from April 7-8, Taipei, Taiwan from April 11-12, and Beijing, China from April 14-15.

By taking advantage of technology standards created for the digital home entertainment center, CyberLink PowerCinema is both a digital UPnP Media Client and Media Server and the world's first standalone IntelR Networked Media Product Requirements (Intel? NMPR) validated media client application. This enables two kinds of usage in the digital home. The first is PC-to-CE (consumers electronics devices) communication, where users-possibly by remote means-stream media content from their bedroom PC (PowerCinema is in server mode) to an UPnP device such as a DMA (Digital Media Adapter) located in the living room. The second usage, PC-to-PC communication, is where one PC with PowerCinema in client mode plays or streams video, audio, and image content from an auxiliary PC with PowerCinema in server mode.

Features in PowerCinema:
? Complete PVR functions including always time-shifting, EPG (Electronic Programming Guide) and TV direct burn
? Digital TV (DVB-S, DVB-T) and Dual/Hybrid TV Tuner Card support
? Watch DVDs, listen to radio, create dynamic photo slideshows, view and manage video files, listen to and organize music tracks via remote control
? UPnP? certification for both MediaServer and MediaRenderer
? DTCP-IP compliance for sharing protected content between devices
? Streaming digital media from content providers
? A scalable platform for expanding features via plug-ins and downloads
? CyberLink Instant-On technology designed for the Linux version of PowerCinema

"We worked closely with Intel to implement digital home technologies in for the Asia Intel Developer Forums in April," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink Corp. CyberLink PowerCinema received strong positive feedback from IDF attendees with their demonstration, a multimedia showcase exhibiting advanced PiP TV, EPG, and UPnP technologies and the enjoyment of media sharing and interoperability in the digital home. At the keynote speech in Tokyo, CyberLink PowerCinema collaborated with content provider to demonstrate sharing live media content in the digital home.
