CyberLink Supports UDF 2.5/2.6 Formats for Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD Generation

Taipei, Taiwan----July 15, 2005----CyberLink Corp., a leading developer in providing integrated solutions for the Digital Home, announced today support for the Universal Disc Format 2.5 and 2.6 (UDF), the burning standard for the next generation of disc formats - Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD respectively.

The Blu-ray Disc format has selected UDF 2.5 as the primary file system standard for burning data or videos onto discs, while the HD DVD format has chosen the comparable UDF 2.6 format. CyberLink's burning applications - Power2Go and InstantBurn - support discs using the aforementioned UDF formats, ensuring disc writing and playback compatibility between PCs and CE devices.

"As the total entertainment solutions leader for playback and burning technology, CyberLink relies on foresight and expertise to rapidly develop, adopt, and support Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD standards such as UDF 2.5 and 2.6," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "We understand the crucial speed and rapid adoption of technology in today's IT industry and are up to the challenge of keeping our OEM partners ahead of the game."
