CyberLink's Software-based Digital Media Adaptor Previewed at CES

Las Vegas, NV----Jan. 6th, 2006----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a leader in Digital Home solutions, and a contributing member of the Blu-ray Disc Association, proudly announced its UPnP media player CyberLink SoftDMA was yesterday showcased during Intel® Corporation's keynote speech at CES, where the company demonstrated future digital home scenarios for enjoying media with Intel Viiv™ Technology-based PC and a CyberLink SoftDMA-based Intel® Centrino® Duo mobile technology.

CyberLink's applications for the Intel Viiv™ Technology platform, including software-based digital media adapter CyberLink SoftDMA, and the automated video editing application CyberLink MagicDirector will be available early 2006.

CyberLink SoftDMA is a software solution designed to add value to home-entertainment PCs, letting users remotely access and enjoy photos, music, video, and protected content over a UPnP/DTCP-IP network from a Digital Media Server. CyberLink SoftDMA delivers a portable, easy-to-install product especially suited to mobile PC devices. Meanwhile, CyberLink SoftDMA offers a networking solution by giving access to remote applications for remote networking and the remote wake-up capabilities, which will support the Intel Viiv technology platform with features that will be available in the second half of 2006 to simplify the set-up of a home network and the ability to transfer digital content from the PC to other devices.

In addition to SoftDMA, CyberLink MagicDirector is also verified to work with the Intel Viiv™ Technology platform. As a plug-in for both Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition and CyberLink PowerCinema, MagicDirector provides automated video editing, taking the tedium out of traditional video editing. It offers multiple Movie Style options that once applied automatically trim unwanted videos based on an intelligent video analysis algorithm. Video effects, transitions, frames and clip art automatically videos clips into an exciting home movie. Users can add background music and titles via the virtual keyboard. MagicDirector also includes options for users to brighten up video images and remove background noise.

CyberLink SoftDMA offers the following breakthrough technologies:
- A Software Solution for Accessing Media remotely from a UPnP Digital Media Server
CyberLink SoftDMA provides an alternative to hardware-based solutions that allow users to access and enjoy photos, music, and video over a UPnP network. SoftDMA works in conjunction with a media server-like CyberLink Media Server-to access files. SoftDMA can simultaneously access multiple servers across a wired or wireless UPnP network, ensuring greater flexibility in sharing content within the digital home.

- A UPnP Client for PC Systems Based on Intel Viiv™ Technology
CyberLink SoftDMA offers a networking solution designed for the upcoming Intel's latest digital home platform based on Intel® Viiv™ Technology, giving access to media available over a UPnP/DTCP-IP network and the internet. SoftDMA will also support access to applications designed to the Intel® Viiv™ technology specifications for remote networking. Compatibility with leading file formats and conformance to UPnP design requirements ensures broad compatibility between other qualified UPnP devices. Remote wake-up supports UPnP power management for media servers based on Intel® Viiv™ Technology.

- A Software Based Digital Media Adaptor
CyberLink SoftDMA delivers the perfect solution for notebook and desktop within the digital home, enabling access to media files streamed across a UPnP network. As a software solution installed on a user's notebook or desktop, SoftDMA optimizes convenience and mobility by eliminating the need for hardware-based digital media adaptor. SoftDMA supports the secured wireless network formats WEP and WPA.

- Support for High Definition Video and MPEG-2 Streaming Formats
CyberLink SoftDMA enables the streaming and playback of high-quality MPEG-2 content, including the protected content.


CyberLink MagicDirector offers the following automated video editing features:
- Theme-based Movie Styles
MagicDirector is an automated video editing software that takes out tedious work from editing videos. It offers a number of Movie Style options that once applied to a video clip, MagicDirector will automatically trim out unwanted videos based on an intelligent video analysis algorithm; and apply video effects, transitions, frames and clip arts to produce exciting home movies. Users can add background music and titles via the virtual keyboard.

- Live Editing of Video Content
With a simple "thumbs up", "thumbs down", and "OK" concept, users can edit their videos via remote control as they play their files. By selecting OK, users allow MagicDirector to cut out unwanted video.

- One-click Video and Audio Cleaning
MagicDirector includes CyberLink's advanced Eagle Vision (CLEV) and Noise Reduction (CLNR) technologies, letting users improve the image and audio quality of their videos. CLEV enhances colors and balances contrast and brightness. CLNR eliminates unwanted and often distracting noises that appear in home videos - such as wind, water, and machinery - without removing audio such as dialog.

- Flexible Options for Setting Video Quality
With five quality settings, MagicDirector lets users choose the highest video quality suited to their disc type and available space. Both NTSC and PAL TV formats are supported, as are LPCM and Dolby Digital audio formats.
