Taipei, Taiwan----Jan. 26, 2006----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a leader in Digital Home solutions, today announced the development of its own MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) codec for playing video files via CyberLink PowerDVD and creating video files via CyberLink PowerDirector.

CyberLink PowerDVD's MPEG-4 AVC Pack lets users play MPEG-4 AVC files featuring high-definition video quality at low bit rates. What's more, magical video editing software CyberLink PowerDirector 5 also encodes MPEG-4 AVC files, enabling the output of high-definition movie content from files captured from HDV camcorders.

MPEG-4 AVC, also known as H.264, is a mandatory format for Blu-ray Discs and HD DVDs. CyberLink's MPEG-4 AVC codec prepares PowerDVD and PowerDirector for the release of next-generation video content.
