CyberLink PowerDirector 5 includes improved magic tools, new effects, a title designer and support for high-definition video content, in addition to Magic Fix and another new feature Magic Style. These latest features speed up the editing process while adding more fun to the creative movie experience.

Video Stabilization
Magic Fix adjusts the degree of stability for videos, stabilizing all types of movie files including both interlaced and non-interlaced content (progressive video). Non-interlaced content is usually used when recording video with digital cameras (in .AVI format) while interlaced content is created when recording video with DV camcorders. This is especially advantageous in today's market because some video editing applications only support one type of video format (e.g. .MOV) or only one type of video such as progressive video.

Refocusing Photos
Misjudging distances are usually the root cause of out-of-focus photos. Magic Fix corrects this problem by modeling the blurring effect as a mathematical process by deriving an inverse formula and then applying the inverse operation to fix the blurry photos. In essence, Magic Fix acts like a corrective virtual optical lens for refocusing users' digital pictures.
