CyberLink PowerVCRII Selected By Samsung For Premium Desktop PC

November 8, 2000----Taipei, Taiwan----CyberLink, a leading software developer of video and audio multimedia applications, has recently signed an agreement with Samsung Electronics Corp. to bundle its PowerVCR II software with Samsung's M6320 premium desktop PC. PowerVCR II is designed to perform real time, MPEG-1 and 2 video recording, directly from any video source, such as TV tuners, VCRs, digital cameras/camcorders, and PC cameras. Consumers will be able to fully utilize the TV and video recording tools in PowerVCR II with Samsung's M6320 desktop computer which is equipped with a TV tuner card, CD-R and an optional DVD-ROM drive.

Currently, Samsung is the largest PC supplier in Korea. Samsung enjoys over 45% of the PC market share in Korea and 70% of the notebook market share. CyberLink PowerVCR II will be included in the M6320 series and PowerDVD will be bundled with computers with DVD-ROM drives. According to Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink, "We value our relationship with Samsung and enjoyed working with the number one PC maker by offering new hardware and software video solutions for the PC market."

In addition, Samsung currently bundles PowerDVD with its M6301 and M6320 desktop computers and the Sens 820 notebook computers which are sold in Korea and exported to Europe. Samsung DVD-ROM drives are also shipped with CyberLink PowerDVD to USA, Europe and Korea.
