Hitachi Selects PowerVCR II and PowerDVD for its New DVD-RAM Drive

October 28, 2000----Taipei, Taiwan----CyberLink, a leading developer of digital video and audio software, is proud to announce that Hitachi, Ltd. has chosen PowerVCR II and PowerDVD to be bundled with its new DVD-RAM drive, for the Japanese market. Hitachi's GF-2055 is its latest DVD-RAM drive, with a maximum storage capacity of 4.7GB, and will be sold on the retail market. For Hitachi, CyberLink's software offers the perfect solution to provide its customers with the capabilities to digitally record files, store them in a highly compressed format, and also playback DVD titles and MPEG-1/2 files with high quality.

With Hitachi's DVD-RAM technology, in coordination with PowerVCR II, users can record their favorite programs or movies and store them in MPEG-1/2 quality on their hard drive, and then DVD-RAM. This process can be done with ease through PowerVCR II's advanced CyberEPG (online electronic program guide), so users can pre-program the software to record the programs they wish. Then, if the user chooses to burn their recorded program on to a DVD that they can then play back on the best software DVD player available: PowerDVD.
