CyberLink Support Center / FAQs – Products / Replacement of CyberLink Code Signing Certificate
Replacement of CyberLink Code Signing Certificate
Applied to: PowerDVD 12 , PowerDVD 11 , Power2Go 8.0

CyberLink  is investigating a possible unauthorized use of a code signing certificate issued  by VeriSign. To safeguard CyberLink customers against the potential installation of  malicious code from third parties, the certificate has been revoked and a new certificate has been issued for the affected products.

There  is no evidence that any sensitive information – either from CyberLink or its customers  – has been compromised.

CyberLink customers  with any affected CyberLink software should visit the CyberLink Software Update Center and install the latest update for  all of their products.

Affected Software Indicators

Most  CyberLink customers will be unaffected by the revocation of the signing  certificate. Some may be impacted by one or more of the issues below:

  • For PowerDVD - Users may experience problems with Blu-ray  Disc playback, evidenced by one of the below error messages:

CyberLink PowerDVD cannot access the storage  device. Select another device when playback stops.

Error code: 800401F9. Error in the DLL.

CyberLink PowerDVD could not launch because some of the components appear to be corrupted. Try uninstalling and then re-installing CyberLink PowerDVD, or check your anti-virus software for malicious activities. If the program still doesn’t launch, please contact customer support for assistance – error code: 101.

This  issue can be rectified by installing the latest software update.

  • For Power2Go - Users may experience problems using their  virtual drive and encounter the following error message:
