How do I output Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master audio when watching Blu-ray Disc movies in CyberLink PowerDVD 13?

CyberLink PowerDVD can pass through lossless HD audio with 192 kHz/24 bit when watching Blu-ray Disc movies via HDMI 1.4.

You need to have the following items:

Source Media:

  • Blu-ray Disc movies or media files with Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master audio

Hardware:

  • Audio card that supports HD audio
  • Amplifier or A/V receiver that supports Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master capability

Operating System:

  • Windows 7 or above

Audio settings in Windows:

  1. Go to Control Panel.
  2. Select Hardware and Sound.
  3. Click Sound.
  4. Set HDMI as playback devices.

Audio settings in PowerDVD:

  1. Click the Settings settingbutton.
  2. Click the Video, Audio, Subtitles tab.
  3. Click More Audio Settings.
  4. Select HDMI under Speaker Environment.
  5. Select Non-decoded high-definition audio to external device under Output Mode.
