FaceMe® Security 8.7 Introduces AI-Powered Visitor Access Control Management for Smarter, Cardless Entry

Taipei, TAIWAN – March 17, 2026 – CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a pioneer in AI and facial recognition technologies, today announced the release of FaceMe® Security 8.7, the latest version of its AI-powered facial recognition solution for security and surveillance. The new release introduces a Visitor Access Management Suite, enabling organizations to replace manual visitor check-ins and physical access methods, like cards, with secure facial recognition.

FaceMe Security 8.7 helps organizations digitize traditional visitor access processes that rely on manual identity verification, paper registration, and physical access cards. By replacing these steps with AI-powered identity verification and automated access permissions, organizations reduce risks such as lost or misused access cards, enhancing security and operational efficiency.

Visitor Access Control management

For large office buildings, corporate campuses, and industrial facilities that manage high volumes of daily visitors, traditional reception and security processes often create several challenges:

  • Manual identity checks: Visual ID verification can be inconsistent and may not fully prevent identity misuse.
  • Time-consuming paper registration: On-site form filling and record-keeping slows check-in and increases administrative workload.
  • Difficulties managing physical access cards: Temporary badges and cards can be lost, damaged, or not returned, creating security risks.

FaceMe® Security 8.7 addresses these challenges with an integrated visitor access management workflow built directly into the solution. The new Visitor Access Management Suite introduces several capabilities designed to streamline visitor check-in, including:

Flexible visitor access control

Administrators can define when and where visitors are allowed based on their identity, schedule, and access permissions. Short-term guests, vendors, or long-term partners can only access designated areas during authorized time windows, improving site security and control.

Facial recognition on IP cameras and face terminals

Organizations can choose the right device for each entry scenario:

  • Pedestrian entrances: At reception desks, lobbies, or security checkpoints, Face Terminal access devices or tablets can perform facial recognition. Visitors who are not pre-registered can quickly enroll on-site, allowing reception staff handle unexpected guests efficiently.
  • Vehicle entrances: At office or factory driveways, IP cameras can perform remote facial recognition. Visitors can be verified without leaving their vehicles, improving traffic flow and reducing congestion.

Real-time visitor information for reception and security teams

The system displays visitor identities, access permissions, and entry records in real time. Using the “Notification Monitor” feature, reception and security teams can immediately view important visitor information and respond quickly to arrivals or alerts.

Open API integration with existing systems

The Visitor Access Management Suite offers an HTTP API that can connect with an organization’s existing visitor booking platforms, administrative systems, or ERP software. Visitor information and entry records can be automatically synchronized, helping organizations digitize previously manual processes and improve operational efficiency.

Additional Enhancements in FaceMe® Security 8.7

In addition to the new visitor management capabilities, FaceMe Security 8.7 includes several platform improvements:

  • Optimized for Axis AI cameras with ARTPEC-9 SoC: Facial recognition at the edge is improved, delivering up to 40% higher performance compared with ARTPEC-8.
  • Enhanced integration with Genetec Security Center: Now supports distributed Genetec Media Gateway installations for more flexible deployment.
  • Improved user experience: Updated management interfaces for Face Terminal access devices and IP cameras, simplifying system setup and configuration. Making setup and configuration simpler.

“FaceMe® Security 8.7 expands our solution with integrated visitor access management, allowing organizations to replace manual check-ins and temporary access cards with secure facial recognition,” said Mei Guu, President of CyberLink Business Unit 2. “We will continue expanding AI-powered access control capabilities to help organizations improve entry management efficiency and security.”
