CyberLink Takes a Giant Step Abroad Subsidiary Office Starts in Silicon Valley

January 5, 1999, Taipei, Taiwan - CyberLink Corp. today announces the establishment of its subsidiary office, CyberLink.com in the U.S. The new office will be located in Silicon Valley and will start operation early January. CyberLink.com will focus on the sales and marketing activities for the US market. "Silicon Valley is a gathering point of almost all high tech companies in the world," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "Most leading brands of the IT industry started from here and today it is still attracting entrepreneurs. As a leading video and audio software developer, setting up our office here will allow us to establish closer relationships with our first-tier clients in the US and North America as well, and to be able to access information of the latest trends and developments of this fast-moving IT industry."

The US office will be headed by Mike Ling, who is appointed as General Manager of CyberLink. According to Mike Ling, "CyberLink is one of the few software companies in Taiwan with cutting-edge technologies competing on a global basis. I am very excited to represent CyberLink in the U.S. and have every confidence to reach the goal of making CyberLing the number one video and audio software expert company in the U.S."

Mike Ling was previously the Asia Pacific Regional Marketing Manager of Intel Corp., responsible for marketing the Pentium II processor. Before that, he was the Marketing Manager of SGS-Thomson, taking charge of MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 markets. Mike Ling has started his career as a software design engineer. He has worked for leading companies such as IBM and Intel at San Jose where he obtained solid experiences in the design, engineering and marketing of computer products.

CyberLink.com is CyberLink's second subsidiary office outside Taiwan. CyberLink has set up its Japan office in the second half of 1998. The Japan office is headed by Nobby Yoshida who takes charge of OEM sales and marketing activities with major hardware companies in Japan.
