IBM CHOOSES CYBERLINK'S POWERDVD AS THE DVD PLAYBACK SOLUTION

Taipei, Taiwan, April 26, 1999 - CyberLink's PowerDVD, the best known DVD playback software, was chosen by Shop IBM, a web-marketing division of IBM Japan. It will first offer PowerDVD as a promotional bundle with its popular external drive model XD-400M.

"As you might have heard, IBM has one of the most stringent quality assurance guidelines in qualifying third-party products. So I consider this a strong proof that our product is superior to any other alternative in the market," said Alice Chang, President of CyberLink. "We are proud to win IBM's approval on our flagship DVD product. This is only a small beginning of business relationships we would like to build with IBM. We would like to see PowerDVD to be bundled with more of IBM's products in the near future."

IBM Japan and IBM have been aggressive about "DVD-enabling" the personal computers. Most of its high-end PC are already equipped with DVD drives.
