Client Fast Facts

  • Location: Japan
  • Industry: Information Technology
  • Established: 1966
  • Capital: ¥3,720,000,000 (as of December 2019)

Problems and Challenges

  • As an unmanned, self-service convenience store, accurate identity verification cannot be completed.
  • Employees are able to use non-cash payment methods such as credit cards, prepaid cards and mobile payments, however, if one of those methods was left behind at their desk, they cannot complete their purchase
  • Located within CAC's headquarters, providing employees with a fast and frictionless shopping experience is a high priority.

Our Solution

CAC integrated the FaceMe® SDK into the payment system of Ministop Pocket and linked it to employees' salary accounts. After registering their facial data in advance, from any computer - home or office, employees can use the facial recognition checkout service. The checkout process is straightforward and fast:

  1. Self-scan the items
  2. Choose facial recognition at checkout from the POS
  3. Complete the payment within 3 seconds with facial recognition

Facial recognition purchase records, including the date, time, and amount of the transaction, are available for employees to check instantly. The amount is deducted directly from the employee's salary, and monthly facial payment limits can be set.
