Basic Editing Techniques 6: Backing up Projects

When you save a project during the editing process, what you saved is a log of the edits you want to make. The media used in your production is not saved to the project file. By exporting your project, all the media clips, along with the project file that contains the log of edits you want to make to the media, are exported and stored in one place. The exported project, or the backup files, is portable and can be imported into another computer running CyberLink PowerDirector for further editing.

1. Select File > Export > Pack Project Materials from the menu.

2. Select Desktop and then click Make New Folder.

3. Enter a name for the folder, and then click OK.

4. Your project was exported.
